What we do

Defined mandates in business development and commercial advisory

We work on a small number of engagements at a time. Each one begins with a specific question — a market, a partner, an opportunity — and is taken as far as the client wants it to go. In any transaction we act for one side only: either the buyer or the seller, never both.

Areas of work

Six areas in which we are typically engaged

The boundaries between them are often fluid; most mandates touch more than one.

Business Development

Working alongside management teams to move an opportunity from an initial idea to concrete discussions with the relevant counterparties.

  • Definition of the commercial opportunity
  • Preparation of positioning and materials
  • Approaches to potential counterparties
  • Accompanying discussions through to implementation

Strategic & Commercial Advisory

Support on commercial questions where an outside perspective and industry familiarity are useful.

  • Assessment of business opportunities
  • Commercial context and market structure
  • Portfolio and territory considerations
  • Preparation for partner or investor discussions

Market Entry & International Expansion

Practical groundwork for companies considering a new market, including who to speak with and in what sequence.

  • Market and channel mapping
  • Identification of local counterparties
  • Entry options and trade-offs
  • Support during first commercial discussions

Partner Identification & Strategic Partnerships

Identifying and qualifying companies that are genuinely relevant to a defined mandate, rather than producing long lists.

  • Screening against defined criteria
  • Qualification of interest and fit
  • Introductions at decision-making level
  • Ongoing relationship management

Europe–India / International Business Development

Cross-border initiatives between European and Indian or wider Asian companies, where familiarity with both business cultures matters.

  • Counterparty identification in both directions
  • Evaluation of proposed collaborations
  • Bridging expectations and working practices
  • Accompanying negotiations and follow-up

Selected Pharmaceutical Industry Projects

Defined, time-limited projects agreed directly with the client and taken on only where we can add something substantive.

  • Clearly scoped mandates
  • Direct involvement of the principals
  • Regular, informal reporting
  • Coordination with the client's own advisors
Scope

What we do not do

We are not a regulatory consultancy, a law firm, a manufacturer or a clinical service provider, and we do not present ourselves as holding technical or regulatory approvals of any kind.

Where a mandate requires regulatory, legal, technical, quality or tax expertise, we say so and work alongside the client's own specialists or established external advisors.

We also decline mandates where we do not have relevant knowledge or access. It is more useful to say this at the outset than to learn it during the process.
