How we work

A boutique engagement, from question to execution

Mandates are agreed directly with the client's management. The people who take the first meeting are the people who conduct the approaches and sit in the discussions that follow. As a specialised pharmaceutical boutique, we take on only a few engagements at a time.

Process

Four stages, kept deliberately simple

Not every mandate runs through all four. Some end after the second stage because the opportunity does not hold — which is a useful result in itself.

01

Understanding the mandate

We begin with the commercial question behind the request: what the client is trying to achieve, what has already been tried, and which constraints are fixed. This conversation usually shapes the engagement more than anything that follows.

02

Identifying what is relevant

We then establish which markets, opportunities or counterparties are genuinely worth pursuing, and set aside those that are not. Where we are uncertain, we say so rather than filling the gap with assumptions.

03

Developing a practical approach

A short, concrete plan: whom to approach, in what order, with what material, and what a realistic outcome and timeline look like. The emphasis is on something that can be acted on, not a presentation.

04

Working through implementation

We make the approaches, prepare and attend the discussions, and stay involved through negotiation and follow-up — working directly with the client's management team throughout.

Working principles

What working with us looks like

A small number of mandates

We take on limited engagements at any one time so that each receives senior attention.

Direct communication

One point of contact, no account layer, and a plain assessment when a view differs from the client's.

One side of the table

In any transaction we represent either the buyer or the seller — never both — so there is no ambiguity about whose interest we serve.

Discretion

Client and counterparty identities remain confidential unless disclosure is expressly agreed.

Flexibility on structure

Engagements are scoped and remunerated according to the mandate rather than a fixed model.

Continuity

Relationships in the industry are maintained over years, beyond the individual project.

Coordination, not substitution

Legal, regulatory, quality and tax matters are handled with the client's specialist advisors.

Enquiries

Discussing a specific project or market

If you are considering a partnership, a new market or a business development initiative, we are glad to have an initial, confidential conversation about whether we are the right counterpart for it.
